* Volunteering From Home*
One of the things that will really help to sustain and improve our project work, and ensure that it keeps on improving, is exposure. If you know of any places or websites where advertising about Traveller Not Tourist could be beneficial (think traveller's websites, churches, universities and colleges etc) we would be very grateful if you could put up a sign or even a note with this website address on it. I can send you a prewritten statement to put on websites and/or the logo for links. Just email me at the address below and I will gladly send it to you. We can also send you marketing materials (posters and flyers) although we would appreciate it if we could send you the electronic versions and you could print them out yourself.
Also, if you know of any organisations which arrange project work for travellers (Gap year projects etc) and you think they might be interested in sending people to this project, please let them know about us (or let us know about them).
You might also want to do some fundraising. I did a lot before I left the UK and it was great fun. Think about the resources you have available to you (and don't forget, friends and family are often the best resources!) Perhaps you know a lot of DJs/musicians in which case a dance/battles of the bands night at a local venue might be the best option. Or maybe you know lots of sporty people and could organise a local olympics event. You'll be amazed how willing people are to help out for a good cause. And don't be shy - try your luck by, for example, asking famous local people to attend or even perform, what's the worst that can happen? Failing that, why not try a sponsored event - a silence or famine, sponsored pub crawl (could get messy!) or even a sponsored skydive (some places let you jump for free if you get enough sponsorship). If all of that sounds like too much work, why not get together all the stuff you, and your friends and relatives, don't want anymore and have a jumble sale or car boot sale (yard sale for those of you in the US).
I am more than willing to help out with tips and emotional support so why not give it a go? It is for a good cause after all!

A note from the author:
It might seem that anything you do or donate is just a grain of sand on a vast beach but we have worked with these children, we've seen the joy that simple things, like salt dough, chalk to write on the floor with and even a hug, give them. An important ingredient in creating a better world is the belief that things can get better and an even more important ingredient is to act to make sure your beliefs are realised. Nothing will ever get better if you don't do anything about it!
These children don't want mountain bikes, computer games or the latest Barbie. They just want to have enough food to eat, to be safe and to be loved. The school we work with gives them these things, and you can be part of that. Please help us to continue the amazing work that goes on there.
Thank you
